How do Reusable Swim Nappies work?

reusable swim nappy

So it’s time for your baby to play in the water for the first time! Swim nappies protect the water (in the pool or sea) from fecal contamination from a likely poop, keeping the water clean.

What is the difference between a reusable swim nappy and a ‘normal’ one?

Regular nappies are designed to absorb liquid, and will therefore suck water from the pool / sea into the absorbent, causing it to swell and become heavy.

Our reusable swim nappies have no added absorbency. They are lightweight, with a double leg gusset that contains poop under water, at the same time as they allow urine to flow through. The first leg gusset contains most solid poo. The second barrier is waterproof and contains runny poo and dirty water inside the nappy.

Reusable swim nappies are not all the same.

Here’s our favourite product features:

  • Double side openings keep it practical and hygienic. Pull up swim nappies can get really messy to pull down the child’s legs when they make a poo.
  • A double elastic barrier that contains even diarrhea under water, all inside the nappy.

  • Double adjustment on the sides and legs, so that your same nappy can be worn from 6 to 17 kg.

Why are the reusable swim nappies better than disposables?

They are more effective

Disposable swim nappies get saggy after a while under water, while our product is lightweight no matter what and retain its shape.

They are cheaper

Because instead of buying hundreads of expensive disposables that are thrown away after every use, your investment lasts years.

They are better for the environment

By choosing a product that can be used for these many years, instead of a disposable one, you are already saving several kilos of non-recyclable waste.

Moreover, they are composed of 100% certified post-consumer recycled plastic, and lining of 100% TENCEL ™ lyocell, which is one of the most sustainable fabrics in the world! Disposable ones are made from virgin polyester, have to be disposed after every few hours, and take hundreds of years to decompose.
